The Venues:

Rheola Forest, situated off the B2424, Glynneath Rd, Glynneath, SA11 4DU


By Car:


Follow A465 dual carriageway south from Mid Wales / Brecon direction.
When you reach Glynneath don’t take the slip-road but carry on the dual carriageway until you reach the next island. Turn right (3rd exit) past McDonalds.
After 350m, turn left onto B4242 and travel south for 1 mile.
The entrance to the woods is on your right. Follow gravel road into site and park where directed. It is all hard standing with limited open space.
Much of parking is along a wide fire road.



Follow A465 from M4 at Neath and head north. Travel this road for 11 miles and at McDonalds island turn left (1st exit).
Continue past Mcdonalds for 350 metres
Now turn left onto B4242 and travel south for 1 mile.

By Train:

There is no train station in Glynneath. Nearest Train station is south of the venue in Neath. There will be a bus service to Glynneath, but the easiest way of commuting from Neath train station to the venue would be by taxi. Using postcode SA114DU

3 out of 4 rounds to count we will be using the same points system as UCI DH racing. the last round is not compulsory to race but you must be present to receive any prize or trophy. This allows for injured riders to still be eligible.

You must attend the podium to be able to collect you medal/prize,we are unable to save or post these out.

All events are classed as Regional A races, Some events will be Championship rounds and may have Double BC points.  We use national level tracks that are uplifted via our dedicated uplift trailers and uplift is included in your entry fee, Uplifts are provided via the venue or an external provider. We will and can not be held responsible for bikes placed onto the trailers by yourself, you are responsible for securing your own bike and should also be vigilante of other bikes that may not be secured and may cause harm to yours. Should a bike suffer damage then you should inform an event official, and identify the trailer/reason for the incident. any claim will be against the trailer owner and not Gravity Events or its agents.  Our events are governed by British Cycling regulations, these are available in the link below or you may look through our website at our guide to racing downhill.

The track will be closed from Thursday morning to enable the track team to tape out and organise the paddock area. It will be available for a riders track walk only after Friday at 4.00PM,

Sign on will be at the finish arena in our Sign-on  gazebo, {except Hamsterley which will be in the hut next to the Cafe.

Saturday: Sign on opens at 8.45am till 12.30pm approx . The track should go live for practise at 9.45am approx. Practise will be all day with the last 1.5 hours being full runs only. Track closes approx. 4.30PM and the last uplift will leave the bottom car park approx 25 mins before the track closes. 

Sunday: Sunday sees practise start at 9.30am Practise finishes at 11.30, approx. 30mins for lunch with racing starting at Midday. 

First race runs from 12 midday  Second race runs from approx 2.15pm Podiums 30 min after final race run at the finish arena.All times given are a guideline and may be subject to change due to , medical incidents, weather conditions, other incidents beyond our control. we will always do our best to provide a full days racing with 2 timed runs but this may be subject to change without notice.

Race fee’s ; these remain the same as last year for Juvenile and youth riders at £70 plus BC booking fee, Other Categories are £75 this is the online booking fee and shuts on Sunday at 8PM of the week of racing. You may pay on the day for your racing providing there are entries left, a supplement to the online fee of £15 is payable in cash

Media / Press

All media personnel should contact the organiser prior to arriving onsite. We ask that the rules and regulations are adhered to at all times and that you make yourself aware of exclusion zones.
Official media will be required to present their public liability insurance certificate before being issued with a media vest, which must be worn at all times.
Photographers are to respect the course at all times and having a media vest does not allow additional access to areas defined as a “Safety Zone” or “B-Zones”

Photographers uploading to Roots and Rain or other site inc, instagram or Facebook for the purpose of payment or for commercial gain including the claim of copyright are required to sign on, if not we will not recognise your right as you are there without our consent and will take steps to have these images removed.

Tech / Expo Areas:

All the Tech, Pit and Expo area, is situated around the barriered finish arena. To book a space @£35, please contact info@gravity-events.uk

Timing, We are using Tag Heuer Official timing beam system , and will have a mid sector split and a speed trap where possible  at all rounds, this will all be displayed at the finish line on our Big Screen TV and overhead gantry clock. 

Camping/ parking, This is free of charge for all racers except Hamsterley (£10), please be considerate and allow others to park alongside. We have a limited number of PRO-Pit spaces for £35, please get in touch to reserve your space.  Please note , there is no official camping at Rheola this is standard NRW policy, please don’t abuse the forest or we will lose the right to have future races here or at any other NRW location. Please note there are no water taps available. 

Please be careful if your using BBq’s , there is to be no fire directly on the ground although a firepit is acceptable, please have a means to be able to extinguish any fire and make sure it is extinguished at the end of the evening.

Toilets. There is  toilets provide at carpark.

Skip. We will provide a miniskip in the  carpark. Please keep your camping area clean and dispose of rubbish in the skip. The skip is not provided for left over tents or gazebos or otherwise. If found we will invoice you accordingly. 

Noise and etiquette   Strictly No generators or music after 10pm . We do have families with young children so please be considerate.

Catering, this is in the carpark , please bring any water with you as there are no taps.

Medics, We will again use Events Team Saltney for our medical provisions  their main  base will be situated in the Finish arena at most Venues with the 4×4 RV being on track. Should you require attention please make your way to them or if unable , contact a member of the team or a Marshall who will radio for assistance.

Security, Please be vigilant when leaving your belongings or your race bike around , the Events is held in a pubic Forest or private land.Both ourselves or the landowners will not be held responsible for items of theft or damage.
